This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Truva mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information: Personal Information You Provide: - Name, email address, phone number, and home address - Profile photo and bio - Trade credentials, license numbers, and insurance certificates (Service Providers) - Government-issued identification and Social Security Number for background checks and Stripe Connect identity verification (Service Providers) - Work photos and portfolio images (Service Providers) - Bank account information for payouts (Service Providers, via Stripe) - Payment card information (Customers, tokenized and stored directly by Stripe — Truva does not store full card numbers) - Job photos, videos, and descriptions - Messages, ratings, and reviews sent through the App Information Collected Automatically: - Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, app version) - Usage data (features accessed, screens viewed, time spent on the App, interactions) - Location data (with your permission, to connect you with nearby Service Providers or Customers, and to provide en-route tracking) - Push notification tokens - Crash reports and error diagnostics (aggregated and anonymized where possible) Information from Third Parties: - Authentication data from sign-in services (e.g., Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In) - Payment processing data and payout status from Stripe - License status data from the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) database (Service Providers) - Background check results from our third-party background check provider (Service Providers)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: - Provide, maintain, and improve the App - Connect Customers with Service Providers - Process payments and transactions - Send notifications about jobs, messages, and account activity - Verify Service Provider credentials and qualifications - Provide customer support - Enforce our Terms of Service - Detect and prevent fraud or abuse - Communicate about updates, promotions, or changes to the App - Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances: Between Users: When a Customer books a Service Provider, relevant profile information (name, photo, ratings, trade details) is shared between both parties. Contact information is shared once a job is confirmed. Service Providers: Our third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App (payment processing, cloud hosting, analytics) may access your data as needed to perform their functions. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account and profile data is stored on secure servers provided by our hosting provider (Supabase), with encryption in transit and at rest. Payment card information and Service Provider bank details are stored directly by our payment processor (Stripe) and are not stored on Truva servers. Background check data is stored by our background check provider under their security controls, and Truva retains only the pass/fail summary needed to activate a Service Provider on the platform. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights: - Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. - Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. - Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. - Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time. - Location: You can disable location services through your device settings. - Push Notifications: You can manage push notification preferences in the App settings or your device settings. 7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the App.
10. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.
